In 2011, Daniel won the Macau Grand Prix, his most important achievent up until then, as well as becoming the first Spanish driver to do so.
Daniel started as one of the favorites to be crowned champion, even though it was only his second year in the Formula 3 Euroseries championship. These expectations were confirmed in the early races, with Daniel wining in Paul Ricard, Hockenheim and Red Bull. He ended second in the championship. The battles with his teammate Roberto Merhi were some of the highlights during the year too.
